Arrow Wishing Well for Sacred 3

Dear Community,

As Deep Silver confirmed today, they are now the owner of the brand "Sacred" and plan to create a Sacred 3 (working title) in the future.

This thread should collect community suggestions for Sacred 3. The ideas will be forwarded to the devs as soon as Deep Silver decides who will create the game.

What do you think, will Sacred 3 be like Sacred 2 or completely different? What would you like to have in the new game and what kind of game could you imagine?

If anyone asks about a release date, please be aware that I have lots of kittens to drown, & fairies to rip the wings off.

You have been warned.

More classes, more different kinds of monsters. More bosses. More set's, uniques, legendaries. A larger map. More mounts.
The quests have to change, right now they are too easy and not quest like.
And most important thing, TRY TO FIX ALL THE BUGS!

I'd like an interesting plot. Maybe not something of BG2 magnitude, but not what we currently have either.

i wish for NO respec option
and i wish the new dev team will first spend a considerable amount of time figuring the previous 2 titles out before they dare to start s3 and end up with a game that fails hard.

*waits for the "we want a respec" request*

Given that people either really want respecs or really don't want respecs, please can we keep any such requests down to a simple statement & keep any discussion of the pros/cons & how you could do it in the existing respec thread. I'm just glad I'm not a dev who has to think about that particular aspect.

Let's hope that S3 would be in the same vein as S1/S2 and have humour and not take itself dead serious.

Blimey - there is going to be an S3! Woohoo! Will it be another prequel? Is Sacred going to be the only franchise that travels backwards in time?

Yes S3 will be laid to the stone age, and the only weapons that you will have is clubs & rocks to throw at your enemy

I would strongly suggest a complete review of S2 and the upcoming expansion, analysis of the data and concentrating the efforts in this matter - not thinking about developing a S3 title. I can give you a strong idea for a plotline, quests, new races and everything in it, but there are more pressing matters.

It is improper to start thinking on a new product, which will be an upgrade to the last one if the last one has hurt the brand of the series, as it will seriously harm the sales of the new product.

Based on this I strongly recommend that the new organization commits its resources at improving the S2 brand in order to pave a proper way for an S3 brand. By improving I mean re-balancing the skills, considering adding caps to certain traits, and improving certain item traits, re-evaluating the quests, adding new content and providing a strong basis for a PvP system which many players (although I'm not one of them) crave for. If you can do this, the next Sacred title will have a good standpoint to start from.

Being an economics graduate with masters degree and having a significant experience in the matters of economics, management, and development of a product and its branding, I would strongly suggest sticking to this plan, provided you want to keep the Sacred title strong. It is no secret that the interest in this brand, based on its past 10 months is very, very low. Nobody wishes to purchase a brand that has proven untrustworthy in the future. It will most likely result in a lot of cracking and donloading the game from torrent sites which will additionally hurt the brand itself, as it cuts the revenue by a substantial amount.

As an economist, I can tell you one more thing, and I for one, hope I'm wrong - that this topic is an attempt to show the gamers that the Sacred brand has a future and thus modify the public behavior in a manner which will improve the upcoming Ice and Blood sales.

In order to form a strong basis for a brand you will need a strong product - and at present, sacred 2 isn't a product worthy of supporting. It still has numerous bugs, it still needs re-balancing, it still needs a lot of testing and improvement. So as I said - provide a strong standpoint for the Sacred 3 development and then work on it. I can provide ideas, plotlines and content for it, if you desire.

Thank you.

1. Make medieval style like S1... without τ-energy, nuclear plants, midi-chlorians and other techno-stuffs.

2. Create ugly unique monsters, I don't want to be forced to kill endangered species anymore. Plz, plz no more poultry, felids, bears, rodents, insects, elephants, dolphins and tasmanian devils FFS!

Things I want changed:

No rats.

Solid story line.

Worthwhile end-game movie.

More armor and weapons that have item descriptions that make sense.

Harder difficulty right from the beginning.

No securom.

Both sexes for each class.

Customizable hair, tattoos, etc.

Things that shouldn't change:

The humor!

Timed CAs instead of mana.

Map size. (unless it increases)

Most everything else!

There is so much more but I am sure most of it will show up in this thread.

Very happy there will be a S3!

More optimisation and definately a console version (with full support and similar item inventory (colours and grid system))

Mainly a flowing story where you know what you are doing (maybe a little cut scene with each "campaign" character you talk to to explain the story and not just send you on another bitty quest. Quests are ok, but they should really be explaining the whole reason for the story (at the moment the first part of the light campaign is to get money for taxes...how does that relate to the story? it should be something to do with investigating the reasons behind the T-mutants or something similar and explaining that there is some evil (as far as Ancaria's inhabitants are concerned) that has made them)

The story should be at the heart of the game and although not opressively dominating (you should be able to carry out side quests etc still) it should always be in your mind so you know what your final goal is.

Character classes are always good, but slightly more history behind each one, and the start of each campaign should have an introduction to the part you play in the story. Branching story lines so each class can "meet" in the game at certain points..to tie the story lines together.

Graphical abilities of the modern consoles are as good as PC's and proper optimisation can give very good frame rate, we want the 60FPS full graphics abilities of games such as Killzone 2 and Gears of War, if these games can do it I hope S3 will be able to do it too (especially if it is on the next console versions)

A linking plot, at the moment, the two games are pretty much stand alone (other than the Seraphim the games could in theory be completely different universes) maybe some way of linking all of the stories together into the origins of the T-energy and maybe even the return of the creator, as maybe the "destroyer" where the Seraphim and other hero's must vanquish their "once legendary" creator due to corruption..

So many ideas...I hope the Devs (when / if they are found) PM me as I have a whole host of them
